LaCarte Wellness employs a team of certified and dedicated professionals who have a wide range of experience in the health and wellness field.  Our registered dietitians, certified fitness trainers, life coaches and psychologists seek to empower and inspire clients with personalized coaching. All of our consultants are licensed to practice in their respective areas of expertise.

Tamara S. Melton, MS, RD, LD

Director

Tamara is a a registered and licensed dietitian and founded LaCarte Wellness (formerly TSM Nutrition Consultants) in 2007 with the goal of helping employers and groups attain a higher level of health and wellness. She has held numerous positions as a nutrition counselor and educator, working as a consultant for several Atlanta-area businesses and directly for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Open Hand/Atlanta, the C.E. Mendez Foundation, and Georgia State University (GSU).  Tamara holds a Bachelor of Health Science degree with a concentration in Nutrition from the University of North Florida and a Masters of Science in Health and Nutrition from GSU. Tamara is also a  part-time instructor at GSU , and is certified in Adult Weight Management through the American Dietetic Association. Tamara is an active member of the American Dietetic Association, the Greater Atlanta Dietetic Association, the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group and the Society of Human Resource Management, Atlanta Chapter, and the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) Dietetic Practice Group. At LaCarte Wellness, Tamara  works with clients to identify wellness opportunities, develop and implement wellness programs and trainings, and devise communication and marketing strategies.  In her spare time, Tamara loves to cook, practice Pilates, travel, and find new hobbies through online websites such as Groupon and Living Social.

Meredith Leigh Johnson

Wellness Programming Assistant

Meredith Leigh Johnson is an undergraduate dietetics student at Georgia State University (GSU). Meredith is a member of the GSU student nutrition organization and serves as the American Dietetic Association’s Student Council Liaison for GSU. She graduated from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration and went on to work at Starwood Hotels, Inc. Meredith returned to GSU to pursue her dream of becoming a registered dietitian. Meredith is very active in the Atlanta nutrition and wellness community, participates in weekly running groups and volunteers with the Greater Atlanta Dietetic Association.

Lindsay B. Jankowski, M.Ed., LMHC, LPC

Behavior and Mental Health Consultant

Lindsay is a licensed mental health counselor and a professional counselor with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts- Boston. Her counseling focuses on overall wellness and life-coaching strategies by using cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and behavior modification. Lindsay is an expert at treating the emotional aspect of obesity, including examining clients’ relationships between food and identity, emotional eating, stress management, and motivational issues. She has successfully treated adolescents and adults suffering with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder and body dysmorphic disorder. In addition to counseling clients with eating disorders and working for a large insurance provider as a workplace weight-loss therapist, Lindsay has treated a variety of other conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, sleep disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and pervasive developmental disorders.  At LaCarte Wellness, Lindsay assists in writing curricula, training modules, and skills-building activities. When she’s not pounding the pavement as an avid runner, Lindsay is spending time with her husband and twin son and daughter.

Albert Matheny, MS, RD

Exercise and Fitness Consultant        

Al is a registered dietitian and an expert in fitness, exercise and performance training.  As a four-year Division I college athlete, Al obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Florida, where he trained in the USA Triathlon Development Program and served as a Level 3 USA Cycling Coach.  He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a strength and conditioning specialist, and he has worked with athletes and non-athletes of all levels to help them improve performance and fitness outcomes. Al also has experience in sports rehabilitation, helping athletes bounce back after injuries.  Using his expertise in sports nutrition, Al is currently developing a line of nutrition products for athletes.  He also serves as an expedition leader for Backroads, a travel company that leads mult-activity trips worldwide.  At LaCarte Wellness, Al helps design training materials and programs. Al enjoys being outside – whether he’s running with friends, biking, or playing with his dogs – and is hoping to obtain his culinary degree soon.

Terald L. Melton, MBA

Business and Finance Consultant

Terald has spent the last 20 years providing quantitative and financial analytics to super-regional and regional financial institutions, investment banking and real estate investment firms. (Basically, that means he’s good with numbers!) Terald holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and a Masters in Business Administration (concentrated in Finance, Statistics and General Management) from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is currently pursuing a Health Sector Management Certification at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. At LaCarte Wellness, Terald analyzes financial and participant data to establish return on investment (ROI) figures, and develops and delivers financial education workshops for clients. Terald loves to play tennis, travel and experiment with new recipes for his family.
